Jacinda Townsend Gides for AAPS

Meet Jacinda

As the daughter of a public high school teacher, I grew up holding quality public education as one of my highest values.

As a veteran school board member who has always put the needs of students first, I’m running for a seat on the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education because I would be so very pleased and honored to represent you and serve the school district that has served my children since we moved to Ann Arbor.

"As a public official I have always listened hard, with an eye and an ear towards advocating for students, teachers, and parents, and I hope I can earn your vote on or before November 8th."

My Priorities

As your Trustee, I seek to advocate for students of color, students at under resourced schools, students with 504s and IEPs, and other parts of our Ann Arbor Public Schools community whose voices are not often heard.

I seek, always, to be an advocate for quality education and equity in and between Ann Arbor Public Schools.

Testimonials

Before moving to Ann Arbor, I served on a School Board in Southcentral Indiana. While there, my guiding principle was that we should be working to ensure that, more often than not, every child in our schools has a good, educational, and positive day.
